Katie and I enjoyed what I thought was to be one of my last real shopping trips for a good long while, a week ago. You see....for some delusional reason I enrolled in Miami Jacobs Career College to become an Esthetician, or a skin care specialist, and knew that it would be sucking all my spare time. Well...in so little words it was absolutely horrific. Should I have known with the indicator "Career College"? Or the fact that the office where I had many meetings with the student advocate smelled like moth balls? Well I didnt catch on. Well maybe I did...but I have wanted for some bizarre reason to be an esthetician for at least 6 to 7 years. So with that determination and the fact that I checked what I thought was everywhere in the state of ohio for a school that offers this program...I decided I had to go to MJCC. Katie very sweetly came the night before and brought me champagne and roses and made me cry. I went, it was terrible, I received a dark omen from a disgruntled student warning me minus a few explicatives to "Get out while I still could".  So with that my days at Miami Jacobs is through and on to a new venture....perhaps finding a school with a tad more reputation....my heart truly wants to go to the Aveda Institute in Columbus, but we would most likely have to move there to make it work. bah. So as I was saying, Katie and I went on a shopping frenzy to Cincinnati to Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, the Kenwood mall and lunch at Shanghai Mamas.(if you ever find yourself on 6th street in downtown cincinnati I suggest you make a mad dash to this place and do yourself a large favor and get the Zen Flatbread) We found some major deals and got our usual matching items. I love shopping with her...it  never fails that when we finish our shopping our bags contain nearly identical items. we are real peas in a pod.

A lamp base from Urban Outfitters, which suspiciously claims there is a cancer causing agent in the paint. i didnt catch that until I got it home and took the tags off it. should it not be so close to the bananas i wonder?
Pretty yellow hat from Urban Outfitters

There was actually some orange juice involved in her surprise for me to make Mimosas but thats gone now and Im on my way to being a floridian socialite getting my nails done all day long and drinking those babies. they're good.

A cup and Latte bowls from Anthropologie

This pendant chandelier @ urban outfitters used to be $60 and ive been pining for it for months. Katies good eye drifted towards the clearance section and low and behold god really wanted me to have it, it was $9.99! ahhhhhhh, the excitement. Nate became and electrician that night and we got rid of our standard disgusting light in the kitchen and upgraded to this beaut.

A bowl that I made in my pottery class, not purchased but nevertheless exciting!

Our new garden my parents helped us with...next year I want it to be the fancy kind with boxes but this will do for our first round.

My boys took me on the most beautiful country ride for Mother's Day. I had a song stuck in my head all day but didnt know what it was, i hummed it to Nate once and immediately he knew what it was....he's a musical genius. It was Canned Heat's "Going up the Country". We listened to it over and over again on our ride....it really made it. It makes me giggle with excitement every time i hear it, its like instant happiness. These two people are the most important things to me and they made my Mother's Day so very lovely! They also bought me "Little Miss Sunshine"  and surprised me with a viewing of Mr. T's "Treat your mother right"...it makes me cry with laughter every single time. Im the luckiest to be gifted the role as mother in Austin's life and wife in Nate's.
